Multnomah County Board of Commissioners Resolution

On April 20, 2017, the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to pass a proclamation in support of policies that support insurance coverage and funding for all reproductive health care services for women, including abortion.

Los Angeles, CA City Council

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that with concurrence of the Mayor and by adoption of this resolution, City of Los Angeles hereby includes in its Federal Legislative Program SUPPORT for HR 2972 (Lee), the EACH Woman Act, or any similar legislation that calls upon Congress and President Obama to support and reinstate insurance coverage for abortion services for women enrolled in public insurance programs.

 

Philadelphia, PA, City Council

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby calls on Congress to reinstate abortion service coverage for women enrolled in public insurance programs by enacting the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH Woman) Act and Pennsylvania General Assembly to provide abortion coverage in public insurance programs in Pennsylvania and lift the ban on such coverage in private insurance plans sold through the Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That it hereby calls on President Obama and Governor Wolf to actively support these and all other measures to insure and protect the rights of women everywhere to have unhindered access to safe and comprehensive health care.

RESOLVED, That the Boston City Council, in meeting assembled calls upon Congress and President Obama to support and reinstate insurance coverage for abortion services for women enrolled in public insurance programs by enacting the EACH Woman Act.

 

Research Brief: The Impact of Out-of-Pocket Cost On Abortion Care Access

Addressing barriers related to access such as cost is imperative to protecting women’s reproductive health and will help to bolster associated socioeconomic outcomes such as educational attainment and job participation.

Ithaca, NY, Common Council

RESOLVED, That the City of Ithaca, New York calls upon Congress and President Obama to support and reinstate insurance coverage for abortion services for women enrolled in public insurance programs by enacting the EACH Woman Act; and, be it

Further RESOLVED, That this Resolution be sent to the Tompkins County Legislature and the individual municipalities in Tompkins County, in the hopes that similar Resolutions will be adopted by their legislative bodies.

Cook County, IL, Board of Commissioners Resolution

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and members of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County call upon federal and state elected officials to maintain the protections established by Roe v. Wade for access to comprehensive reproductive health care and undo restrictions that have been placed on those protections;

and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the President and members of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County call for increased federal and state funding for comprehensive reproductive health care and to reinstate coverage for abortion services for women enrolled in public insurance programs.

Resolution commemorating the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade and calling on the United States Congress to support funding for comprehensive reproductive health care.

Resolution calling upon President Obama, the US Congress, Governor Corbett, and the Pennsylvania General Assembly to maintain existing public funding for comprehensive reproductive health care and reinstate insurance coverage for abortion care for every woman who needs it, regardless of the source of her insurance.
